Community Service
Good SamaritansJust as the name implies, the Good Samaritan’s mission is to assist the Indian Lake community residents in their time of need. We help people with utility payments, rent, medicine and other items. We offer assistance when appropriate based on the circumstances and needs. We fund the Community Church's Community Meal operation and we work solely on donations.
Community MealThis monthly meal is free and open to anyone in the Community as an opportunity for good food and good fellowship. We provide and serve the meal in the Fellowship Hall on the last Thursday of each month. The food is purchased by the Good Samaritan fund. Volunteers prepare and serve the food and drinks, clear the tables and clean up. We begin at 2:30pm with food preparation and finish about 6:00pm with clean up. The meal is served from 4:30pm to 6 pm.
Prayer ChainThe Prayer Chain Ministry is a group of volunteers who offer prayers for members and friends during times of illness, death or any other personal crisis. We pray individually and as a group for all who are in need. We encourage anyone needing prayer to call the church secretary or a member of the Prayer Chain to request prayers. Those not wishing to have their concerns named publicly will have their names placed into the silent prayer list for only the Prayer Chain members or only the Ministry team.
Christian Women's Fellowship (CWF)The CWF is a group of dedicated women of Indian Lake. Their activities include study programs, worship, prayer, fellowship, assist religious education programming and support church dinners. Our special activities are helping Indian Lake Elementary with their student needs and the Christmas Fund. We meet on the third Thursday of the month in the church Multi-Purpose room or at a member’s home.
Ladies AidThe Ladies Aid is a group of Christian women who assist and support many of the church functions. Various activities include: sending cards to members, assisting the Men’s Club with various activities, assisting with the rummage sale, monetary contributions for different church projects and donating money to the memorial fund in memory of loved ones who have passed away. The Ladies Aid meets the first Thursday the months of March, April, June, July, August, September, November, and the second Thursday during the months of May and October. During May and October they are busy helping with the rummage sale that takes place twice a year. The meetings are at 1pm in the Fellowship Hall.
Outreach CenterThis is a church based thrift shop located on the church grounds that offers low cost clothing for anyone in the area. Money collected from these sales is used to purchase other essential items that cannot be purchased with food stamps. Hours of operation are Thursdays from 10am to 2pm.
Summer Women's Bible StudyEach summer beginning around the first Thursday during the month of June a group of women meet to discover how they can grow and give back to others while following Jesus' example. The group meets from 10:00am – 11:30am for about 6-8 weeks.
Day CareThe Indian Lake Community Church Day Care provides a safe, nurturing and educational environment for the children of the area. The center provides day care, preschool, before and after school care for children 3 years old to 10 years old. The Day Care is open Monday-Friday 5:30am to 5:30pm.
Children's HourFollowing the children’s message during the 10am worship service, children 2 years old through 10 years old are invited to the children’s hour. The children's service is held in the day care in the lower level of the church. During the service, children learn Bible stories, play games, make crafts and sing songs.
Youth GroupThe Youth Group organization has been founded to develop and bond the youth of the church together to learn, provide service, fellowship and offer community outreach to the Indian Lake community. This group is open to all junior and senior high youth. One of the primary focuses of this group is to raise funds to combat hunger issues at home and abroad.
Nursery ServicesDuring the regular worship service, we offer a nursery for infants through toddlers. This service is staffed by church volunteers.
